Starting at 7 p.m. Digital Journal is covering the Canadian Federal Leaders Debate live. Join our liveblog play-by-play coverage, join in the discussion and debate and take part in live polls.
The leaders will debate on April 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. ET, and will be providing real-time coverage of what's being said and what people are discussing during this important event. Included in the debate will be Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff, NDP leader Jack Layton and Bloc Quebecois leader Gilles Duceppe.
The debate lasts two hours and is broken apart into six segments. Each segment begins with a question submitted by a Canadian, followed by a one-on-one debate between two leaders. Each segment concludes with an open debate between all four leaders.
For the one-on-one portion, here is the schedule for the English debate:
Part 1: Stephen Harper - Gilles Duceppe
Part 2: Michael Ignatieff - Jack Layton
Part 3: Stephen Harper - Michael Ignatieff
Part 4: Gilles Duceppe - Jack Layton
Part 5: Michael Ignatieff - Gilles Duceppe
Part 6: Jack Layton - Stephen Harper
The leaders will also take questions from host Steve Paikin.
