Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi made $32,000 for a speaking engagement at Rutgers University in New Jersey last Thursday; the Q&A sessions were sold out.
According to the New York Daily News, Snooki was paid $32,000 for the event, $2,000 more than the university is giving to Nobel-winner Toni Morrison for giving the school's commencement speech.
Snooki encourages students to "study hard, but party harder." Snooki's speaking fee at Rutgers was approximately what she makes per episode on "Jersey Shore."
"Such a waste of my money," freshman Dan Oliveto said to the newspaper. "If I want to listen to someone talk, they should have something intelligent to say."
According to the New York Daily News's poll question, "What do you think about Snooki's big payday?", 78% of people say, "I'm outraged. This is a waste of money."
