Mandi Bearak started baking cakes for her daughter and family members over three years ago just for fun. It was then that the former graphic design student decided that baking cakes was really fun so she took a class at a local art store on how to decorate cakes. Then some friends started approaching her offering to pay her to make cakes for them.
She had never thought about getting paid to bake cakes, but the idea was more than appealing to her so she did her first few cakes an quickly word of mouth caught on and each week more and more orders started rolling in. Eventually she decided to utilize the social networking site, Facebook to design a fan page for people to follow her some more and where she could post pictures of her cakes as well as comments from customers.
Quickly advice started flowing in from numerous directions as more and more orders started coming in and the power of "word of mouth" continued to pay off for the start-up baker. The concept for her company was going to be simple, Mandi wanted to design cakes that were artwork and not just something to eat, even though eating the cake is the end goal.
Mandi stated, "Each of my cakes is unique, no two are a like. I want my customers to have their cake and eat it too."
The cake orders continued to roll in and from there "Sweetart Cakes"
was born. A website followed as did business cards, stationary, matchbooks and more and more cakes.
Mandi launched her first website, designing it herself, [url=http://www.sweetartcakes.biz]www.sweetartcakes.biz
There is nothing that Mandi isn't willing to do, whether it is a Coach purse, the Bat Mobile, or something totally off the map. Mandi repeatedly iterated that each cake is a one-of-a-kind, special to just the person who it is intended for. That means that if you see something that you like on her website or in a magazine that Sweetart Cakes will use that information plus other strategic questions about the event and who the cake is intended for to design a unique cake each and every time.
So what kind of cake do you like? Is it chocolate or an almond cream cake? Sweetart Cakes covers their cakes in a marshmallow fondant that can win even someone who previously hadn't liked it. Marshmallow fondant is unique and adds greater depth and taste to the cakes. As many of customers have noted that they either never had fondant or had never found one they liked until they tried Sweetart Cakes'.
Currently Sweetart Cakes serves Rock Hill, Charlotte and Columbia areas. If you are outside of these areas other arrangements may be made but you need to speak with Sweetart Cakes to see what can be arranged. The website has additional pictures as well as comments that were left by customers.
