Wolf who escaped wildlife park in Ontario killed by farmer

By KJ Mullins     Mar 16, 2011 in World
When a full grown wolf escaped an Ontario wildlife park yesterday afternoon it quickly was seen going into a nearby farm. The farmer killed the animal in order to protect his cattle.
Durham Regional Police became aware that a large wolf was on the loose when a citizen near Orono notified them. With small children playing in the area the citizen was concerned for their safety and the safety of family pets.
When the wolf entered into a nearby farm around 3:20 p.m.the farmer took action to protect his cows.
A call to Jungle Cat World confirmed that a wolf was missing from the park. They were co-operative during the investigation and are now reviewing their pens to see how the wolf was able to escape.
There are no reports of injuries to people.
