London - Phil Collins announced yesterday on his personal website that he was retiring only because he wants to be able to be a full-time father to his young sons.
Longtime British singer and drummer Phil Collins announced yesterday he was officially retiring from the music business.
Collins personally reached out to his fans on his personal website, titling a post "Breaking News," explaining his reasons for retiring in response to previous articles claiming why he was ending his music career.
"Many of the articles printed over the last few months have ended up painting a picture of me that is more than a little distorted," said Collins in his post.
The Grammy award winner peacefully explained that he was only retiring for personal reasons, "I'm not stopping because of dodgy reviews or bad treatment in the press."
Collins would have celebrated 43 years in the music business this year.
