West Nyack - A female customer in a liquor store in West Nyack, New York went on an angry bottle breaking spree in the Hub Shopping Center at Rite Buy Wine and Liquor.
A woman entered the store after exiting from the back of a taxi. After a few seconds she began complaining about the service as the clerk was in the process of helping another customer. An angry exchange began to develop. The woman also asked to use the bathroom in the store.
Lohud reports: “When the clerk — who said she smelled alcohol on the woman's breath — refused, the woman turned to leave and, with her arm extended, knocked dozens of liquor bottles to the ground.”
Among the estimated 51 bottles destroyed store owner Chris Giacopelli listed bottles of Johnnie Walker Blue Label a product so rare that it comes with its own serial number.
CBSNewYork reports: “Police said they know she arrived and left in a cab and was dropped off at the Palisades Mall. They have a possible line on her identity but would like your help all the same. “Oh this is quite unusual. I think that she had been drinking. That’s the information we have,” Clarkstown Police Sgt. Harry Baumann said. If you know her you’re asked to call the police and its suggested you probably don’t want to make her angry.”
The store owner wanted to reassure customers that the incident was a rare occurrence and it was generally a peaceful place to shop.
