Ann Timson, the grandmother who battered six armed robbers in broad daylight, is selling the now-famous handbag on the online marketplace site eBay, with the proceeds being donated to charity.
Earlier this month as six crash-helmet wearing armed robbers began smashing their way into a jeweller's store in Northampton, England, the would-be robbers did not think their nemesis would be a 71-year-old granny armed with just a black handbag.
In the
brazen daytime raid, which was videoed by a passer-by, the six bandits managed to smash their way through three windows with sledgehammers but failed to get away with any booty, thanks to Mrs Timson, now dubbed by some in the media as Supergran.
She has become an overnight sensation after video footage of her brave efforts to thwart the bandits was shown around the world. She has already been flown over to the US for an appearance on
NBC Today programme in New York where
she appeared alongside her son, Andre and granddaughter, who live in the States, reports Mail Online.
When asked if the famous black handbag [purse] would appear on eBay, the reluctant heroine said: "Andre is going to deal with something like that and we are going to give the funds to charity."
It is expected to fetch hundreds of dollars on the marketplace website.
