Ont. home invasion victims escapes and calls police, arrests made

Ajax - When the three occupants of a home in Ajax became victims of a home invasion Saturday, they escaped and called police. Police were able to arrest the suspects before they had a chance to leave the home.
At about 2 a.m. Saturday, Durham Regional Police got a call from the victim of a home invasion on Booth Crescent in Ajax saying that the suspects were still in the home.
The DRPS and members of the York Regional Police Tactical Support Unit arrived on the scene before the suspects had left the residence. The accused were contacted and then escorted from the home without incident. Investigators arrested the men and obtained a search warrant.
A loaded Glock 40 caliber handgun with ammunition was seized. The officers also retrieved cash and jewerly stolen during the crime. The police do not believe that this was a random act.
Jelese Bush, 23, and Jermaine White, 22, of Toronto were both charged with robbery with a firearm, disguise with intent, possession of a weapon for committing an offence and additional firearm-related charges.
Bush also faces a breach of recognizance charge and White a failure to comply with probation charge.
