Man arrested for attempted murder of mall security guard

Toronto - Toronto Police have arrested a man in connection to the September 13, 2010 attempted murder of a security officer at Fairview Mall.
It has been alleged that the suspect was observed by the victim stealing. When the victim attempted to arrest the accused the man pointed a firearm and fired at the victim missing him. The suspect fled the area. A handgun was located at the scene.
On February 4 Christopher Alexander, 27, of Toronto was arrested in Calgary on a Canada Wide Warrant. During his arrest a second handgun was recovered.
On February 11 the accused was being returned to Toronto on a flight. During the flight the accused assaulted two Toronto Police officers.
Alexander is facing 25 charges including theft under, escape from lawful custody, attempted murder while using certain firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized and possession of restricted firearm with ammunition.
