Toronto citizen takes down man assaulting woman with baby

Toronto - On Thursday police were called to an assault in progress call on Quebec Avenue near Bloor Street West. When they arrived they found a suspect held to the ground by a citizen.
According to the police report it is alleged that the suspect was riding the subway. He started a disturbance and threw a drink at a TTC employee. The suspect exited the subway train at High Park subway station using the Quebec Avenue exit.
The accused approached a woman, 41, who had a baby in her arms and began yelling at her. He is then said to have hit the woman in the face with a bag that he was carrying.
Acting quickly a 21-year-old male witness intervened to help the woman. The suspect punched the witness in the face. The witness then tackled the man and held him for the police on the ground.
Khoder Ahmed, 32, of Toronto, has been charged with mischief under $5,000, causing a disturbance and two counts of assault.
