By Crystal Watts     Feb 8, 2011 in Technology
The Hearsay Corporation, a startup founded by Steve Garrity and Clara Shih in 2009, announced its first comprehensive social media platform.
The Hearsay Corporation provides a cloud-hosted comprehensive social media management platform where businesses with multiple branches, franchisees, representatives, agents and advisors can manage and deploy content from within a centralized location.
The official press announcement was released on February 3, 2011. The Hearsay Social platform will provide management tools for governing corporate compliance, content management, workflow and approvals, keyword filtering, analytics and engagement monitoring of all of their social media accounts including LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook Pages.
Steve Garrity, former Microsoft executive and Clara Shih, former Google and Salesforce executive, received over $3 million in investments from several major leaders and companies including Sequoia Capital, Social Media and Technology leaders Michael Abbott, Twitter VP of Engineering, Steve Chen, Co-Founder of YouTube, Aaron Sittig, Facebook Architect, and David Hahn, LinkedIn VP of Product Management.
"We are delighted to partner with Hearsay so that financial, insurance and other professionals can meet their regulatory requirements, while taking advantage of the extensive networking, marketing and research capabilities of LinkedIn, the world's largest professional network," said David Hahn, Vice President of Product Management at LinkedIn.
What is Hearsay Social? The Hearsay Social platform offers a custom solution for businesses with national presence and strict compliance policies. The platform is optimized and uniquely designed for national enterprises with large numbers of social media pages. The Hearsay Social platform is a software-as-a-service (SaaS). The primary components include: messaging archive, keyword flagging and filtering, workflows, corporate governance, content suggestions, real-time analytics, and visibility across the entire organization. In addition, the platform offers simultaneous posting, marketing campaign management, and a 360-degree view of Facebook fans and friends, LinkedIn connections, and Twitter followers. Activity such as posts, comments, and profiles are consolidated into a contact record that aggregates the activity information.
"With Hearsay Social, companies can be safe with advanced compliance and workflow capabilities, successful with compelling content and smart with robust analytics," said Clara Shih, Hearsay's CEO, who created the first business application on Facebook in 2007 and subsequently authored the bestseller The Facebook Era.
The Hearsay platform will be distributed to more than 30,000 companies and branches, including enterprise corporations like State Farm, Farmers Insurance Group, and 24 Hour Fitness who are among the first to deploy the platform.
