article imageUFO footage over the Dome in Jerusalem among 'best ever'

By Kev Hedges     Feb 2, 2011 in Science
Jerusalem - Several video footages of a UFO hovering over the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem has got the online international community buzzing with excitement trying to work out if the sightings above the shrine are real or not.
The important Islamic shrine and landmark located on the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem appeared to have a close encounter with a hovering glowing light, just yards above the Byzantine martyrium-shaped structure.
The encounter was captured by an American tourist and its footage then posted on YouTube, having been filmed around 0100 local time on January 28. When it was uploaded it would have largely been dismissed as a hoax until several other video captures taken by others in different parts of the city appeared to be synchronous, reports ITN.
In one video four young locals are filmed driving around town and as one passenger leaves the car to get some fresh air. Then while looking at the night-time city vista in a hill-top park he summons the other passengers, including the cameraman, who captures the glowing light.
The glowing light appears to hover down to the dome and after a short while it then leaves at a vertical angle with great speed. Two angles taken from different parts of the city and then synchronized are shown below. Both footages appear to show round flashing dots of light in the night sky. The footage has been described by one uploader, Novolved, as the best "UFO footage ever".
