Detroit - The Internet is starting to churn out even more stories about the third installment of the Christopher Nolan directed 'Batman' series, namely the third location of where 'Dark Knight Rises' will be filmed.
Nolan's Batman Begins and The Dark Knight became resident movies in Chicago to shoot Gotham City scenes, however, Warner Bros has already confirmed two of the locations for Dark Knight Rises, which will be Los Angeles and England--the final location was left unnamed, but, said to be either Detroit or New York.
The website Reel Chicago, which showcases news about films being shot in The Windy City, said that Chicago has not yet been confirmed by the production crew as the usual place for Gotham City. Instead the movie might be filmed partly in Detroit, Michigan sometime in May. Reel Chicago also mentions that another location might be New Orleans.
Should the rumor be true about Detroit, as MLive states, this will garner huge buzz for Michigan as another comic book movie, The Avengers, has already been confirmed to also be partly filmed in the state between the months of April and September.
Tax incentives from the state of Michigan for filmmakers have seen directors and studios flock from Hollywood to Michigan. Other movies that have been shot in Michigan include Gran Torino, Transformers, Jumper, Semi Pro and Whip It.
The Dark Knight Rises is expected to have a July 2012 release date.
