article imageSuspected killer arrested after clue from victim's photo

By Samuel Okocha     Jan 5, 2011 in Crime
The suspected killer of a Philippine politician was arrested following a clue from a photograph taken moments before his attacker shot him.
Reynaldo Dagsa, a Manila district councillor, had taken a photo of his family outside their house on New Year's Day. But without his knowledge, a man raising his gun to fire at him was included in the background of the snap.
The man suspected of murder is now in police custody after the family gave the photo to law enforcement agents.
''The killer is shown in the photograph wearing a back-to-front baseball cap just behind Mr Dagsa's daughter, wife and mother-in-law, who were unaware of his presence,'' reports the BBC.
"While he was taking the picture of his family on New Year's Day, the killer appeared and he inadvertently took the picture of the killer with the gun aimed at him," the BBC quoted local police chief Jude Santos as telling the AFP news agency.
