article image'Saw 3D' mistakenly screened to children instead of 'Megamind'

Revere - Parents are upset at a local movie theater that accidentally screened the gory horror movie “Saw 3D” instead of the hit Dreamworks animated motion picture “Megamind.”
According to NBC News, Showcase Cinemas, a movie chain in the United States, accidentally showed a group of 7-year-old children celebrating a birthday the horror flick "Saw 3D" instead of the cartoon movie "Megamind.”
Parents became concerned during the previews when motion pictures for mature audiences were screened. When the film began, children were told to shut their eyes during the scenes of murder, torture and disfigurement, which occurred for several minutes.
Employees at the theater realized the mistake and immediately transferred over to “Megamind.” The children were then given one free movie voucher but parents say that the damage has already been done and their children are upset by it.
“He came and slept with us and we thought we had gotten past that years ago. He said that he had a few nightmares,” said Dolph Rau, a father of one of the children. “Again, all that I would like to see come out of this is that its not going to happen again.”
The last time this happened was in 2007 when moviegoers intended to watch the family fantasy film “The Last Mimzy” but were treated to “The Hills Have Eyes 2,” which had an opening scene of a rape victim giving birth to a mutant baby and then beaten to death by a hillbilly monster, reports Worst Previews.
