Prince William will marry Kate Middleton next year

By Kev Hedges     Nov 16, 2010 in Lifestyle
Clarence House has announced that Prince William and Kate Middleton will marry next year in the spring or summer. Next year would have been the 30th anniversary of William's parents, Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana.
William and Kate began dating in 2002 when they met at St. Andrew's University in Fife, where they shared the same house. A brief statement from Clarence House has just been released:
The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton. The wedding will take place in the Spring or Summer of 2011, in London. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course. Prince William has informed The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince William has also sought the permission of Miss Middleton's father. Following the marriage, the couple will live in north Wales, where Prince William will continue to serve with the Royal Air Force.
The couple shared a private holiday in Kenya during October, the BBC reports, they were engaged there. Ms Middleton has become the spotlight of much media attention ever since she began dating William eight-years-ago. William and Kate were given a guarantee of some privacy, following an agreement worked out between the palace and press while he was a student.
In April 2007 it was reported in the BBC the couple had split up. Following the break-up, negative stories about the Middleton family appeared in the press.
Kate Middleton is the eldest of three children, she was educated at the exclusive Marlborough College in Wiltshire, where she was described as level-headed, popular and talented.
Their relationship flourished during weekends alone on the Queen's Balmoral estate.
She had been dubbed "waity Katie" by critics in the press who say she appeared to spend her time shopping and socialising while waiting for a proposal. That waiting is now over.
