Bury - Robbers threatened a man and woman, and their 15-month-old daughter with a gun and a meat cleaver at a shop in Greater Manchester, UK. Police are hoping CCTV video will help lead to an arrest.
Two masked men entered Gough News around 6:15pm on Nov. 9. A gun was held to the head of the shopkeeper, who was holding his daughter, and cocked as the robbers demanded money.
They also threatened the man’s wife, who was behind the counter.
After gathering up cash and cigarettes the thieves left the store.
Police said the victims were shaken but physically unharmed.
"To threaten a man while he held a young child in his arms is beneath contempt,” Sky News quoted Detective Constable Stephen Gaskell, of Bury CID, as saying.
"The only saving grace is that she will be too young to remember this. However, her parents will not be so lucky - it will have left an indelible impression on them.
"These robbers are clearly desperate and don't shy away from using or threatening real violence.”
He said police are carrying out inquiries and he is confident that, with the public’s help, they will catch the robbers.
The men being sought are described as white, with one being about 5ft 7in tall with a slim build.
