Sacramento - U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina was admitted to the hospital Tuesday morning to undergo treatment for an infection from breast cancer surgery.
Former Hewlett-Packard executive, and present GOP Senate candidate Carly Fiorina was admitted to the hospital this morning for an infection associated breast cancer surgery she underwent this summer.
Campaign Chief of Staff Deborah Bowker said in a statement, "Carly learned more than a year and a half ago that she, like millions of women, had breast cancer. After successfully battling cancer, she had reconstructive surgery this summer and remains cancer-free today." "However" Ms. Bowker went on to say, "this morning Carly came down with an infection associated with re constructive surgery, and, as a result, she was admitted to the hospital to receive antibiotics to treat this infection."
Bowker also said that Fiorina "is upbeat and her doctors expect her to make a full recovery and be back on the campaign trail soon."
Senator Barbara Boxer's campaign sent Ms. Fiorina their best wishes releasing a statement saying, "we wish Carly Fiorina a speedy recovery and hope she is able to return to her normal schedule soon."
