Fashion industry has a new social media network

By KJ Mullins     Oct 11, 2010 in Internet
Modeleville is one of the latest social media networking websites out targeting those who keep the rest of us in style. The site brings together the creative people behind the world of modeling and fashion.
Modeleville is for photographers, models, hair stylists, makeup artists, wardrobe stylists, fashion designers, model scouts, creative directors, agency bookers and others who work in the fashion industry.
"The goal of Modeleville is to serve as a bridge among professionals in the industry and to give aspiring talent the exposure and opportunity they need. With top end design online portfolios and a very user friendly networking service, we will create opportunities for our members that can help them to achieve their career goals," according to David Tan, the head designer of Modeleville said in a press release.
With an easy to use interface users don't have to worry about their trade secrets escaping. Members only reveal what they want to and can keep other information under wraps.
David Tan, a student at Technische Universitat Munchen, used his summer break to design the site before returning to school to finish his Masters degree.
"Modeleville will become THE online place for people in the fashion industry to meet, hang out, and make connections," according to Michael Tan, the man who was responsible for bringing Modeleville from the planning board to reality.
Michael Tan, the CTO of Modeleville got his theoretical computer science Masters Degree in a mere 18 months instead of the regular two years while on a full scholarship. He did the site's coding in just three months.
"Whether you are looking to hire a model, a photographer, a make up artist, or other people in the modeling and fashion industry, or you are hoping to work as one, signing up with Modeleville is the first step you can take to achieve your goals. It is also a great tool to keep in contact with the people you have worked with," says J. Chen, CEO of Modeleville.
