An earthquake with a 5.3 magnitude rocked central Mindanao, sending residents in Cotabato out of their homes, state seismologists said.
“We heard a very loud rumbling under our house so we ran toward the road,” Anastacia Simbahon, 49, a resident of Poblacion 8 in Midsayap, North Cotabato said.
“I yelled ‘earthquake, earthquake’ so the children could go out to the road,” she added. reports
Reiner Amilbahar of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology’s Cotabato office said the quake occurred at 5:58 a.m. Its epicenter was about 19 kilometers northeast of Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.
It was felt at Intensity 5 in Davao del Sur, Intensity 4 in Matalam, Kabacan, Midsayap and Kidapawan in North Cotabato and Marbel in South Cotabato.
It was the second quake to hit central Mindanao in two days.
No damage or casualties were reported
