article imageVoting open in Chelsea FC's Song Contest for the Fans

Chelsea FC, the English Premiership soccer Champions, has organised a Song Contest for their fans to enter. The winning entry will gain exposure on the official site and TV channel.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, do not adjust your computer screen; it is as you see it.
Songs from fans have been a mixed bag in sports, ranging from the sublime (such as the chant quoting Verdi's Rigoletto) to the ridiculous (such as other, unprintable on a family website efforts).
In an effort to sort out one from the other, Chelsea FC have launched their own contest on the well-known website, YouTourney.
The prize for the eventual winning song (which has to be either an original chant or an established Chelsea song sung by a fan) is worldwide publication of the song on the Official Chelsea FC Website and on Chelsea TV.
Entries closed before this author could write this article, sadly, but he nevertheless urges you to vote for the entry that you think is the most deserving in the competition ... not least because he does have a small vested interest in it too (which, of course, is totally irrelevant).
The format of the competition is a knock-out tournament, where videos are paired 2 by 2, and where the worst video of the pair after a day's voting is instantly eliminated.
Therefore, if you are to vote, I would encourage you to vote once a day, every day, until the Contest ends. Thus, everyone has a fair chance of winning.
May I join millions of Chelsea fans around the globe in wishing that the best video win - and wishing good luck to all the participants.
