article imageVanessa Minnillo finds intimacy in the shower

By Michael Bearak     Oct 2, 2010 in Entertainment
Vanessa Minnillo, the host of True Beauty, has opened up about her relationship with Nick Lachey and their alone time in Parade.
Vanessa Minnillo has been dating Nick Lachey for four years but neither has opened up about their relationship with each other until now. Minnillo claims that part of the reason their relationship has lasted so long is because they talk. Where they talk is another issue, one that Minnillo happily shares, that they shower together twice a day. According to Minnillo, "It's not a sexual thing and it's not a romantic thing, it just becomes an intimate thing ... I've had some of my most intimate conversations with him in the shower."
Minnillo explains that both of them have their own shower heads, so according to her as they soap up or lather their hair they talk about things. She says it is these intimate conversations that help her and Lachey grow as a couple. The most recent conversation that the couple has been contemplating is whether or not they want to be part of a reality show or not. Lachey has had experience being part of a reality show with cameras following his every move, as they did in the show "Newlyweds" with him and ex-wife Jessica Simpson.
Minnillo also isn't sold on the idea saying, "Nick has done [reality TV] before and he was very successful at it and whatever he chooses to do with his future I will support him 100 percent. Me personally, I don't know. I think that there's something to be said for keeping intimate moments to yourself."
Regardless of the show or not, the couple definitely finds value in their shower time together in sharing things about their lives together. Minnillo is firmly convinced the shower time will only continue to help their relationship grow, "We talk daily about things that upset us. It's about having a sounding board because if you hold in all your thoughts, dreams, anger and anxiety than you're only hurting yourself."
