A passenger train crashed in central Indonesia killing at least 22 people and caused injury to more than 50 other passengers.
The train smashed into the back of another train which was idle and parked on the same rail at around 3.00 a.m Saturday.
AFP/Yahoo News reports:
"The suspected cause of the accident was a mistake in the traffic management system," national police spokesman Iskandar Hasan said.
Many of the dead and injured were trapped in three carriages, which had derailed and flipped over, officials said.
An update from AP says casualties as of mid morning Saturday rose to 43 but was later revised to 36.according to the update.
The toll was expected to rise with some bodies still trapped in the mangled wreckage.
