Reports are coming in that the hospital where Ecuador's President Correa was being held is under heavy gunfire. He has been rescued and is now back at the presidential palace.
Military forces have begun to invade the hospital where the nation's president is recovering from an attack with protesters earlier in the day. BNO's Michael Poppel reported that he was watching live coverage from the scene where heavy gunfire has been heard near the hospital. There are also reports of explosions taking place near the scene.
The police have also stormed the Ecuadorian state TV Building within the hour. The signal has not yet been cut.
Correa has gone back to the presidential palace to a cheering crowd as seen via television reports.
