Mississauga - Want to cram inside a police cruiser? That's the goal of Peel Police's 11 Division Police Community Liaison Committee, in association with the Prisoner Escort Unit and Auxiliary Unit this Saturday during a “Cram-a-Cruiser" food drive and fundraiser.
The public is being invited to squeeze inside the cruiser with food or any other non-perishable items to benefit local food banks. The officers are hoping that they raise 10,000 pounds of food, non perishable item and cash.
The event will be held at Real Canadian Superstore on Winston Churchill Blvd. and Argentina Road and at Metro on Erin Mills Parkway and Sheridan Park Drive between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday.
Constable Marcia Hanlon said in a press release, "We welcome you, your co-workers, family and friends to make your own collection and bring it to one of the locations. If you don’t have time to shop, we will also be accepting monetary donations."
