Recent news about Katy Perry's segment being deemed 'too sexy' for Sesame Street has overshadowed their hilarious tribute to 'True Blood'.
With the recent reports about Katy Perry's appearance being cut from Sesame Street, many have overlooked a gem of a segment airing on YouTube. The skit, titled True Mud, parodies HBO vampire drama, True Blood. It features puppet versions of Bill and Sookie, complete a fairly accurate imitation of vampires (renamed 'grouches') and Southern accents. The segment also parodies the Emmy-nominated title sequence.
In the past, Sesame Street has payed tribute to other popular adult shows such as Mad Men, The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Closer.
It seems that while pop culture is a perfect match for the critically acclaimed series, it's best kept subtle. No low cut yellow dresses in the future for this show.
