Lindsay Lohan returning to jail

By Nicole Karns     Sep 24, 2010 in Entertainment
A California judge has remanded Lindasy Lohan to be locked up in county jail until October 22 with no possibility of bail.
A formal probation hearing will take place on that date to determine if Lohan will face even more jail time.
One of the requirements of Lohan's probation was mandatory drug testing, which she failed.
Judge Fox did have the option of granting bail, which would have allowed Lohan to remain free until the formal hearing, but instead Fox opted to remand the actress to immediate custody with no possibility of bail until the Oct. 22 hearing,
According to TMZ, Judge Fox did not hear testimony from Lohan's lawayers before making her decision.
Last week Lohan tweeted, “Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result.”
"Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn't go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps forward every day. I am testing every single day and doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future. ... This was certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I'm prepared to face the consequences."
This comes just after the actress spent 23 days in a court-ordered drug rehab facility following 13 days in jail. This has all stemmed from a drunk driving charge Lohan received back in 2007.
Since then Lohan has been in and out of court, and it seems the actress has yet to clean up her act. If she sees fit, Judge Fox could send Lohan back to jail for another 30 day sentence
