Pop singer Katy Perry's song Hot & Cold won't be appearing on Sesame Street anytime soon because of complaints about the gold bustier she wore on the show's recent taping. The clip aired on YouTube earlier this week.
The song featuring Perry and Elmo won't make it to the taped segment of Sesame Street due to feedback Sesame Street received when the YouTube clip made the rounds on the Web.
What's all the fuss? Evidently, Perry's clothing choice was too revealing: she wore a gold bustier that exposed her cleavage, sparking complaints from YouTube viewers. The clip was removed from the Sesame Street YouTube channel but is still up on Perry's channel.
In the segment, Perry is asking Elmo to play dress-up, but he quickly runs away and the singer tries to catch him while singing her tune.
Perry recently told reporters being on Sesame Street "was the highlight of my entire career." She added, before learning Sesame Street was pulling the clip: "I love that 'Hot N Cold' could translate to Sesame Street. I just love that. I’m gonna have kids someday, and I love that some pop star out there is gonna change their lyrics to make my kids bounce in their diapers.”
