By KJ Mullins     Sep 23, 2010 in Crime
Oakville - Oakville was the scene of an incendiary device found in a garden this week. A man found the device in his garden after returning from a walk Halton Regional Police said.
On Monday the Oakville man returned from a walk to his Falling Green Drive home when he discovered a device about the size of a running shoe in his garden. The device resembled a makeshift explosive.
"The man felt the device must have been placed in his garden between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm on September 20th," said Halton Regional Police.
The Halton Regional Police Explosive Disposal Unit were called in and went to the home where the residents were evacuated while the immediate area was checked for other objects, none of which were found.
On Wednesday the device was confirmed to be an incendiary device after an expert examination. The device has been dismantled and is no longer a risk.
Police are continuing their investigation and will be in the area of Falling Green Drive to conduct a canvass of residents over the next couple of days.
