Teenage youths in Colombia are filming themselves playing a deadly game of chicken by laying in between train tracks whilst trains pass over them.
The foolish daring stunts are then filmed by friends. Several youths are now actively taking part in the craze they have dubbed 'The Train Game'. The youths wait on the tracks until they hear a train coming and lie down in between the tracks whilst the train passes over them just a few inches above their backs. So far there have been no reported deaths although one youngster has lost two fingers but local authorities said it may only be a matter of time before a fatal accident occurs and are starting a public health campaign to convince the youngsters how dangerous the train game is.
Sky News reports that death defying stunts involving youngsters being filmed playing with trains are nothing new. Only a month ago a man from China jumped underneath a train in Shanghai and filmed himself whilst laying flat on his back as several tonnes of steel train passed over his body. The video went viral around the world.
In Britain, British Transport Police posted a video showing a foolhardy teenager playing chicken on the lines following a spate of deaths on railways after youths had either tripped or fallen.
