Silsoe - A 17-year-old British boy has been told he will never be welcome in the United States after he sent an abusive email to President Barack Obama.
Luke Angel, 17 never thought he would be the centre of American punishment after he emailed the president with a vitriolic email full of abusive and threatening language. Angel found himself on the wrong side of the law in England and America.
The email was first intercepted by the FBI who then contacted the Metropolitan Police who in turn got in touch with Bedfordshire Police, the force that covers Angel's district in Silsoe, Bedfordshire. The Bedfordshire force sent officers round to the college student's home and told him the US authorities have banned him from entering the States for the rest of his life.
The email was sent around a month ago during August 2010 and according to Bedfordshire On Sunday he cannot remember all of the details he put in the mail as he was drunk and high at the time. Angel had expressed his intense dislike and hatred for Obama and the US government after he had watched a TV programme about 9/11 much of which delved into the conspiracy theories behind the atrocity and the suggestion that maybe the US authorities were behind it.
Angel had also done a lot of internet searching on the illuminati and believed many of the theories he found. When police visited Angel he admitted right away saying: "Oh dear it was me!"
Sarah Wilkinson, a spokeswoman from Bedfordshire Police said:
“The individual had sent an email to the White House which was full of abusive and threatening language. We were informed by the Metropolitan Police and so we went round to see him. He said ‘oh dear’, it was me. He was told that he wouldn’t be able to go to America.”
She added that it was basically a boy ‘being silly’ and nothing more sinister than that and said that there was no criminal action being taken against the boy.
Angel himself says he does not really care and that his parents are more unhappy about it than he was.
