A shoe factory in Pedro Sula, Honduras was the scene of a shooting Tuesday afternoon that left 13 dead at the scene and 5 more dying in hospital.
Two gunmen entered the shoe factory Tuesday afternoon armed with AK-47 rifles. When they had finished shooting 13 were dead with another 5 dying shortly after being taken to hospital.
The factory is located in an area that is believed to be controlled by Mara 18, a street gang. There is no evidence at this time that the gang is behind the shooting.
According to Chief Hector Ivan Mejia with the San Pedro Sula Police Department there is no motive for the shooting.
“We will not rest until capturing the persons responsible,” Mejia said in a press release.
