Man's ear cut away during home robbery in Ontario

Oshawa - A portion of a man's ear was cut away during an assault yesterday at a home in Oshawa. The victim was treated for serious head and ear injuries at hospital.
The victim had gone to the residence of a couple on Celina Street. After the man the couple demanded his personal property including his money. That caused a fight to break out. During the fight a portion of the man's ear was torn or cut away. The victim also received non-life-threatening head injuries. After escaping the house the victim took a taxi to a nearby home where the police were call.
The victim was treated and released at a local hospital.
The police do not believe that this was a random act.
Virginia Cochrane, 27, and Abel MacNeil, 28, of Celina Street in Oshawa have been charged with robbery. MacNeil was also charged with aggravated assault.
