A man in the UK has created a unique lavatory by renovating an old phone box he found in a reclamation yard. He added a toilet, cistern, basin, heater and frosted glass panes.
Before purchasing the box he went to the phone box down the road, in the dark of night, to make sure everything would fit.
“It's worked out extremely well – better than expected,”
The Telegraph quoted him as saying.
''I've wanted a red telephone box for years and I didn't have an outside lavatory, so I thought I could combine the two.
''To be honest, I probably use it more often than the internal lavatory now. It's just so convenient.''
Early this year a red phone box in Westbury-sub-Mendip was in the news because it had been converted into a neighbourhood book exchange.
In July a phone box in Draughton received publicity for being the pick-up spot for newspapers and groceries from a shop in a neighbouring village.
