Rewards have now been offered for information leading to the conviction of the girl who was filmed throwing puppies into a river. The latest reward is for $50,000.
Gawker reports that, according to a post on Michael Bay’s official website, the film director is offering $50,000 for information leading to the girl’s arrest and successful prosecution.
The post stated: "There is a disturbing video going around the news outlets. It's a video of a blonde young woman in a red sweatshirt casually tossing squealing puppies into the fast-moving river one by one.
Michael Bay has informed me that he is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and successful prosecution of the woman in the red sweatshirt and the person who shot this act of cruelty."
The message has now been removed but a screen capture of it can be seen on the Gawker website.
PETA has offered a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction the person, or people, responsible for throwing the pups into the river.
According to PETA, members of 4chan were able to track down the owner of the Bosnian YouTube account that originally uploaded the video, but the girl’s identity has not yet been confirmed.
An apology for what took place on the video was offered on a YouTube video, but it is not known whether it is genuine or something designed to cause problems for the person named.
