Toronto - For city kids in Toronto seeing a cow close up is a rare event. At the annual Canadian National Exhibition the farm comes to the city for area kids to learn more about animals.
There are many different types of animals on Ontario farms, from the common cow to the exotic alpaca.
CNE has a special place for all of these animals at 'The Farm.' The exhibit located in the Better Living Building combines fun with education so that kids and adults alike have a better understanding of the animals that live on farms.
One of the interesting spots is a slew of dairy cow and the machines that bring us milk. The size of these dairy cows is amazing. There are also several newborn calves located within the building.
We all know eggs comes from chickens but have you seen the machines that get eggs in a modern farm? That machine and the hens that produce the eggs are on hand at this exhibit.
Kids have a chance to ride around on mini-tractors and tricycles that look like animals. With the use of fun kids have a better understanding of how the food in the grocery store got there.
