A hip-hop dancer born without legs due to a birth defect has become famous after performing on India's Got Talent television show.
Vinod Thakur, 21, is rehearsing and training his hip-hop moves and flips with only his hands for support, as demonstrated during his recent performance on India's Got Talent show.
Thakur grew up in a poor neighborhood in East Delhi, teaching himself to dance by copying the moves he saw from watching breakdance videos on the Internet.
He used to work as a mobile phone repairer, but his hope now is to "open a dance training school for physically challenged people in future."
Thakur told Sky News: "I used to look for B boying dance stunts through the internet. My friend Manish has been with me since childhood and he knows what all things I can do.
"Even if I was not able to do a step, he used to tell me, Vinod you will be able to do it."
He went on to say : "The school that I will open...I will keep it free for disabled people.
"I will hone their skills that God has gifted them with and make a group of my own and send them back to the stage of India's Got Talent."
Kmata Chopra, his former schoolteacher, thought Thakur would "make it big someday." She told "I don’t have words to express my happiness. I wish him all the best and pray to God that he wins the show and helps his poor parents."
Thakur earned £85 a month as a mobile phone repairer. If he wins the top prize of the talent show, he will walk away with £68,000.
Thakur is an economics student, and only started to learn hip-hop dancing five months ago. He said: "I am very excited about the next round. I have been getting a lot of support from my friends and family.
They want me to make them proud and I will do my best."
