Rumors have been circulating concerning the future of United States' Soccer coach Bob Bradley and his future with the national team. Thursday's meeting with United States Soccer Federation president Sunil Gulati might offer a glimpse into the future.
Bob Bradley's contract with the U.S. National Team expires in December of this year. The United States Soccer Federation has not offered Bradley a contract extension either. On Thursday Bradley and the president of the United States Soccer Federation had a meeting in Los Angeles.
Many probably were hoping that the future of the U.S. National Team would be settled during that meeting, at least from a coaching perspective. Bradley has expressed interest in coaching in Europe, and only last week rumors were abound about him jumping to coach in the English Premier League for Aston Villa. Bradley had been quoted as saying that coaching in Europe has always been a dream of his and that was no secret.
After their meeting on Thursday was reportedly for a debriefing on the United State's World Cup performance where they lost to Ghana in the second round. This was the second such meeting between the two men since the team's return for South Africa. A source close to the situation told
ESPN, that there was no decision made regarding the coaching position or Bradley's future in such a role.
ESPN reported that some people are feeling a sense of urgency over the coaching decision since the team has a friendly in October against Poland and they are also in the process of setting up two other matches.
