Bochum - A Polish man living in Germany didn’t know there was a bullet in his head until five years after he had been shot, because he was drunk when it occurred.
The bullet was discovered when the 35-year-old man went to the doctor, believing he had a cyst. The lump turned out to be a .22 calibre bullet.
A police spokesman said the man told them he remembered being stuck in the head during a New Year's Eve party in 2004 or 2005. He also said he recalled having a sore head, but that he wasn't one for going to the doctor, reported BBC News.
He eventually went to a physician because of recurring pain.
Police do not believe the incident is suspicious. They said it could have been a bullet fired in celebration which entered his head on the way down.
The bullet had not penetrated the man’s skull, but was only lodged in his scalp.
