Npower Championship side Crystal Palace have clinched the shock signing of former Dutch international Edgar Davids on Friday.
The for Ajax man has joined the Eagles on a pay as you play deal after being without a club since 2008, after being released by Ajax.
Palace who went into administration in the middle of last season and were deducted ten points that almost meant the end of their Championship status, were gifted by the news that the transfer embargo imposed on them had been lifted after the club successfully cleared their debts.
Davids is the third of three quick signings made by Palace that includes nineteen year old Obika from Spurs and Counago from Ipswich.
