Rogers, Arkansas – Twilight Walks offer visitors an opportunity to “rediscover Historic Downtown Rogers,” with something for all ages featured such as quality art, street musicians, children’s activities, and local food vendors.
Main Street Rogers, Inc. coordinates Third Friday Twilight Walks in the heart of the downtown historic district.
Twilight Walks occurred on May 21, June 18, July 16, and August 20. DigitalJournal.com was on hand for the August 20 walk and, along with residents and visitors to Rogers, strolled down Walnut Street between First and Second Streets.
A number of local artists displayed their creations including contemporary artist Trent Larson, and Ruchi Negi whose oil on canvas and water color paintings were exhibited.

As noted by the
Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce, “merchants of the historic district host local artists, photographers, and musicians.” One of those merchants was
Poor Richard’s Art, which featured artists Helen Thomas and Hank Barnes.

Barnes, who specializes in stained glass, is the brother of Thomas who is a photographer. On a card that Thomas distributed, she writes “about what makes the ART of photography so intriguing,” saying:
Remembering the wrinkles in strangers’ faces, seeing infinite shades of green in diverse landscapes, being ready when the sun rises, and watching the brief golden light near dusk with awe every time. Those are all parts of the image puzzle. The prize is simple. A memory of when, where and how you created an image.
Twilight Walks are “uniquely themed,” and the theme for August 20 was “Dog Days of Summer.”
