A child who was allegedly slapped on a flight to Albuquerque was removed from her mother by a Southwest Airlines flight attendant.
The attendant witnessed the mother allegedly strike her 18-month-old daughter in the face with an open hand, slap the child's legs and yell at the child for crying on the flight from Dallas. The father yelled at his wife to be quiet reports a press release.
The flight attendant stepped in to calm down the child and the parents. The authorities was called in and questioned the Georgia family when the plane landed. After medical exam of the child the parents were released.
The woman admitted to slapping her daughter after the little girl kicked her. She also admitted to putting a finger in the child's mouth to quiet her.
The child had a black eye which the parents said was from a dog bite.
