Houston - If a MLB baseball game is any indication of what the future will bring, one Houston Astro's fan should run the other direction while she has a chance. A foul ball was hit into the stands striking the woman when her date ducked instead of catching the ball
There are several unwritten rules when it comes to catching, or attempting to catch, foul balls and home runs at a major league baseball game. You always catch the foul ball that is headed directly for your date's head and if you miss it and it hits her, give the ball to the girl and apologize for being a wuss and diving the other direction.
Major League Baseball (MLB) said chivalry was dead when it comes to one young female Astro's fan at a game recently played at Minute Maid Park.
The announcers called him Bo the Bailer after his dive was caught on camera and shown on the ball park's big screen for all to see. His girlfriend Sarah said, "As soon as we got here and I saw where we were sitting, I said 'Baby, we're going to get hit,'" the woman said when interviewed during the game. "He said, 'No, I'll catch it if you do. We just had this conversation and sure enough, the ball comes at me. He just bailed."
And Bo's response to the interviewer? "The ball was coming up and I was going to catch it and it was in the lights and I lost track of it." The oldest excuse in the book still doesn't hold up as Bo the beau is given a pair of sunglasses by the broadcaster, who told him next time "go towards your girlfriend, not away from her like a little chicken." Is this a forewarning of whats to come for this couple? Sarah said "she will have to reconsider things now."
