Almost a month after the NAACP passed a resolution against elements of racism in the Tea Party, black conservative leaders in the U.S. have come together in defense of the grassroots movement.
Black conservatives have come out of their obscure and pariah status in the black community to gather in defense of the Tea Party. The Tea Party organization has been labeled racist by the media and other outlets, including language from the NAACP insinuating that the Tea Party has not attempted to root out the racists in their midst.
In the accompanying videos some black conservatives of note including Niger Innis(Congress of Racial Equality), Alfonzo Rachel (Zonation), Frantz Kabreau ( Project21.org), Bob Parks ( Project21), Steven Keyes, Mychal Massie(Project21), and others came together to show support for the Tea Party, specifically the group called Tea Party Express.
Many questions were posed to the group including stances on racism in the Tea Party, views about the Shirely Sherrod case, their opinion regarding the 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution and its affect on illegal immigration, and other issues pertinent to the conservative base of America.
Black conservatives see the liberal agenda as a tool to hold back the black communities from thriving by keeping them in victimhood, divided, and afraid. However, many blacks who are conservative in an abundance of issues identify with the Democrat party saying that the Dems are the only party that cares about the survival of the black community. Black Republicans are thus regarded with suspicion and called various names such as Oreo, Uncle Tom, and traitor because they support a party that is accused of hating the black community and of over all racism.
