By KJ Mullins     Aug 9, 2010 in World
An attempted prison break during prayer time in southern Afghanistan has left two United States Marines and one prisoner dead on Saturday.
The names of the Marines have not been released. The International Security Assistance Force reports that a prisoner escaped when he was observing pray time and was able to obtain a rifle. He subsequently engaged Afghan and coalition forces. While trying to subdue the prisoner the Marines were killed. The prisoner was later killed by small-arms fire.
The incident is under investigation.
