article imageTwo-legged lamb being hand-raised in China

A two-legged lamb impressed his owner so much with his instinct to survive, that she has decided to hand-raise him. The animal was born with only front legs.
Cui Jinxiu, 38, who has a farm in eastern China’s Shangdong province, said she would normally have killed an animal with such a birth defect immediately after it was born.
“He was so determined to live he pulled himself up onto his own two feet and started drinking his mother's milk. I couldn't let him die,” Metro reported her as saying.
“He may only have two legs but he gets around very quickly and is pretty steady on his feet. He follows me everywhere and I haven't got the heart to slaughter him.”
She said the lamb, who weighed 11 pounds at birth, has a friendly personality and she doesn’t think he realizes he has a disability.
Vets told her that the defect could have been a genetic throwback or it could have been caused by pollution.
