Actor Charlie Sheen pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault charges and has been sentenced to community service and rehab. This case is stemming from the Christmas Day fight between Sheen and his girlfriend
While other stars have had to go to jail for their run-ins with the law, Charlie Sheen had his day in court Monday for a Christmas Day fight with his wife.
According to People, Sheen struck a deal to enter a guilty plea that got him 30 days in rehab as well as domestic counseling. Sheen pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault charges while two other charges were dropped.
Sheen 44, addressed the judge saying, "Guilty as charged your honor." When the judge asked why he was entering the plea, Sheen replied, "Because I'm guilty."
In February, Sheen sought treatment at a rehabilitation center but it was deemed as just a preventive measure.
After the sentencing on Monday, Sheen released a statement saying, "I'm very grateful to the court and to the people of Pitkin County. I look forward to complying with the court's decision, getting on with my life and putting this behind me."
Today's hearing and decision cleared the way for Sheen to be on the set come Tuesday for his show Two and a Half Men.
