United Latest web site said that Anderson Luis di Abreu Oliveira , 22, was partying at the Sardinha Biba nightclub in Geres, Braga. He left the nightclub with a man and a woman. All three were in Anderson’s £125,000 two-seater Audi R8 when the accident took place.

Daily Mail said that Anderson’s male friend had been driving.
After leaving the road the car went through a farmyard wall and travelled about 100 meters in the air before landing in a field.
All three occupants of the vehicle were taken to St. Mark’s Hospital and later released. It was reported that the woman required the most treatment.
Police are investigating. If the driver was drinking there could be charges related to that, as well as charges for excess passengers in the car.
The Guardian reported that Anderson was reputedly fined two weeks' wages in January for returning to his home country of Brazil without the club's permission after an argument with the manager. During a match again West Ham United, in February, he suffered a cruciate ligament injury to his left knee.
