A British man wanted for murder on an International Warrant was arrested Tuesday morning by members of the Toronto Police Service Fugitive and Canada Border Service Agency.
In April 2003 a group of men, including the suspect, was involved in an altercation. The group were parked outside of Mahad's house in Butetown, Wales.
It is alleged that the suspect later hit Mohamed Musa Mahoud outside of the suspect's home with a metal bar in the head. Five days later Musa was dead from a brain hemorrhage reported the
BBC.
South Wales Police issued an arrest warrant at that time for twenty-year-old Mohamud Mahad, also known as Kalid Sharif for murder.
Detective Superintendent Jackie Roberts, from the force's major crime team, said: ``The tragic events of the past weeks have caused immense distress and trauma to the family of Mr Musa and we would appeal again for anyone with information to come forward, especially members of the Somali community.''
It is alleged that in 2003 Mahad fled the United Kingdom arriving in Canada.
