Hanes Feature New Ads Around Jordan, Jockey Signs Tebow

In what may be considered a preemptive strike to Jockey's signing NFL quarterback , Tim Tebow, Hanes has announced a second installment of ads surrounding their longtime leading spokesperson, Michael Jordan.

The TV spots will be created around Hanes new underwear with Comfort Flex waistbands will feature Jordan and are a part of a larger ad campaign that includes Hanes' Lay Flat Collar T-Shirts that debuted in May of this year. In a press release Hanes expounded on their direction with the ads and the new line of clothing. "Hanes strives to keep people looking and feeling great by creating comfortable apparel solutions that provide confidence from the inside out," said Sidney Falken, senior vice president, Hanes brand. Hanes does not have style or aesthetics at the top of it's design priorities. Instead, comfort and waistbands that stay put during activity, are the necessities they believe customers want. "Consumer research tells us that the number one concern for men regarding underwear bottoms is uncomfortable waistbands that pinch or bind. Hanes Comfort Flex Waistband was created to address these issues by maintaining a superior fit that stays in place throughout the entire day." Hanes has had a 20-year relationship with Jordan and has made a habit of crafting its marketing strategy around the former NBA All-Star and six-time NBA champion. "We are excited to highlight our new product through comical ads with Michael Jordan," said Falken. Earlier today, Jockey announced, Tim Tebow as it's newest spokesperson. Tebow is expected to be a part of a number of items in the Jockey product line including the new Staycool line scheduled to debut in Spring 2011. Tebow said in a press release “I’m excited to represent the Jockey brand and to work with such an innovative company. I’ve long been a fan and consumer of Jockey, and think they make a quality product with a great fit. I’m looking forward to a great relationship with such a respectable company.” Tim Tebow led the University of Florida Gators to the BCS National Championship in 2009 and is now a rookie quarterback on the Denver Broncos football team. He is also former Heisman Trophy winner.
